Mazda is expanding its lineup with yet another SUV, called the CX-70. It’s essentially a five-seat version the CX-90 large SUV already on sale in Australia, taking top spot as the premier two-row SUV in its showroom.
Combining performance with luxury, the CX-70 is being presented with two powertrain options in Australia; a 3.3-litre turbo-petrol inline-six or a diesel version of the same capacity and configuration. The petrol produces 254kW and 500Nm, while the diesel generates 187kW and 550Nm.
Both powertrains are matched with Mazda’s ‘M Hybrid Boost’ 48V mild-hybrid system for improved efficiency and performance, and are paired with an eight-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.
Inside, the CX-70 offers an elevated sense of luxury, with just two higher-end variant grades making up the mix; the GT and Azami. The GT comes with a 12.3-inch widescreen display, 21-inch black metallic alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and a premium Bose sound system. Leather seats with heating and memory functions add to the premium feel.
The top-spec Azami trim adds additional features like ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, and a frameless interior mirror. Customers can also opt for the SP Package, which includes tan Nappa leather and a suede-finish dashboard panel.
Unlike the CX-90, the CX-70 comes with the Mazda Connected Services technology, which provides remote vehicle communication via the MyMazda smartphone app. It offers features such as geofencing, vehicle health check, vehicle locator, and remote locking.
