Hyundai has revealed the lightly updated i20 N hot hatch for the 2025 model, bringing in new tech and a refreshed look for its smallest N model, while maintaining the performance credentials that have earned it a loyal following.
Set to arrive in Australia by November 2024, the hot hatch offers subtle styling tweaks. It sports a redesigned front bumper, and a new-look grille with a distinctive mesh pattern, giving it a sharper, more aggressive appearance.
The update also includes fresh 18-inch forged alloy wheels with an elegant Y-spoke design and machined face finish, showcasing Hyundai N’s signature Dynamic Tomato Red brake calipers. The new flat Hyundai badging in matte black appears on the rear tailgate and the gear knob, adding to its modern appeal.
Under the bonnet, the i20 N keeps its 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, producing 150kW and 275Nm, with an overboost function providing up to 304Nm for short bursts. The six-speed manual gearbox and mechanical limited-slip differential remain, ensuring that driver engagement and cornering performance stay at the heart of the experience.
Inside, the updated i20 N features new LED interior lighting, along with Hyundai’s latest Bluelink connected car services. Bluelink offers a suite of functions, including automatic collision notification, live traffic updates, and remote climate control. Over-the-air (OTA) software updates are also part of the new tech package. Hyundai Australia CEO Ted Lee said:
“The updated 2025 Hyundai i20 N is proof that some of the greatest things come in small packages. Sometimes a performance car’s recipe is so good that only small tweaks are required, and by boosting the i20 N’s technology and styling, Hyundai has elevated an outstanding and accessible performance package to another level.”
Hyundai Australia remains the only market globally to offer the full N range, which includes the i20 N, i30 N, i30 Sedan N, and the IONIQ 5 N. With its enhanced tech and styling, the 2025 i20 N looks set to continue delivering accessible performance for driving enthusiasts.
