2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 now on sale in Australia

Looking to buy a new electric vehicle? Well you might want to hold your horses. Hyundai Australia has just announced the 2025 IONIQ 5, offering increased range, more in-car tech, and some styling and feature revisions. It’s on sale now.

The 2025 IONIQ 5 is available in three main trim lines, from the base, the Dynamiq, and Epiq. These are also available with the new N Line pack (except base model), adding sporty details inside and out. These are then split up with two battery sizes, at 63kWh and 84kWh.

2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 N Line - wheels

Going for the Standard range with the 63kWh battery (only available with the base model) gets you a single-motor system generating 125kW and 350Nm. The range is listed at 440km with the 19-inch wheels.

Moving up to the Long range 84kWh battery, available on all variants, brings output up to 168kW and 350Nm for the single-motor setup. Using the WLTP test cycle, the range is listed at 570km with the 19-inch wheels, or 530km with the optional 20-inch rims, and down to 512km with the N Line pack.

At the top of the lineup, the Long range battery is also available with two electric motors (AWD), combining to develop 239kW and 605Nm. The range is 500km (up from 454km in 2024 model) and it comes standard with 20-inch wheels, or down to 495km with the N Line pack.

Acceleration across 0-100km/h is claimed in 8.5 seconds with 125kW, 7.3 seconds with 168kW, and 5.1 seconds with the 239kW AWD system.

New for 2025, the exterior comes in for some light revisions, introducing the latest flat badge theme, new bumper bars and skid plate areas, updated digital side mirrors, a new rear spoiler, and some fresh 19- and 20-inch alloy wheel designs. The N Line pack adds a unique bodykit, 20-inch alloy wheels, unique badges, and N Line seats and steering wheel inside.

Inside, Hyundai is introducing its latest 12.3-inch touch-screen system running NVIDIA hardware that promises 15 times more graphical processing power than the previous setup. It includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (wireless), over-the-air update capability, Bluelink remote connectivity, and split-screen functionality. There’s also a 12.3-inch screen for the gauge cluster.
