BMW Australia has announced details and prices for the 2025 3 Series update, including for the sedan and Touring wagon, both of which are set to arrive by the end of the year. Just two variants will be available, with the 330i and M340i.
The updated 3 Series features new wheel designs, an interior refresh, and the integration of the advanced BMW Operating System 8.5. These updates are expected to boost the visual appeal and digital sophistication of the iconic model.
As before, the 330i variant will be available across both sedan and Touring variants, while the M340i xDrive will remain exclusive to the sedan. The 330i is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder producing 190kW and 400Nm, while the M340i features a 285kW 3.0-litre turbo inline-six.
Even though the 330i is only a four-cylinder, it’s not slow. BMW claims 0-100km/h in just 5.8 seconds, and we’ve timed 5.70 seconds in the real world with the 2023 model. The M340i takes a claimed 4.4 seconds, and, again, we’ve seen quicker results in the real world with the 2023 model taking 4.10 seconds. See videos below.
A notable enhancement across all variants includes a base specification that now features a glass sunroof, M Shadowline trim, and heating for both the steering wheel and front seats. This improved standard equipment package is designed to provide added luxury and comfort for drivers and passengers.
The 330i sedan now starts at a lower price point compared to its predecessor, yet it offers a higher level of specification. It nows starts from $89,900 for the sedan (down from $93,400 in the outgoing model), and from $92,900 for the Touring wagon (down from $98,900). This pricing adjustment is aimed at bringing more value to the popular mid-sizer. The M340i jumps up however, from $106,200 to $114,900.
Both the 330i sedan and wagon are available with an optional Enhancement Package for $4500, adding metallic paintwork, tyre pressure monitor, ‘CraftedClarity’ glass features, adaptive LED headlights, and a Harmon/Kardon sound system.
All three variants will also be offered with an M Sport Pro pack for $1900 in the 330i and M340i sedan, and $1500 for the 330i Touring. It adds M Sport brakes in red, M Lights Shadowline, M seatbelts, and an M rear spoiler in gloss black (sedans only).
