GAC has expanded its EMZOOM lineup in Australia with a new entry-level Premium variant, priced from $22,990 drive-away until September 30.
The new grade sits below the existing EMZOOM Luxury model and gives the small SUV range a more affordable entry point, while retaining the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Outputs remain at 125kW and 270Nm, with drive sent to the front wheels, making it one of the more powerful options in this class for a full petrol engine. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 6.6L/100km.

Despite its lower price, the EMZOOM Premium still comes with a reasonably broad standard equipment list, including artificial leather seats, rain-sensing wipers, automatic climate control, a reversing camera, rear parking sensors, and a 14.6-inch central touch-screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assistance, lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control.

The Premium rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and misses out on some of the Luxury model’s features, such as the panoramic sunroof, power tailgate, 360-degree camera, ventilated driver’s seat, wireless phone charging and 18-inch wheels.
The EMZOOM Luxury remains priced from $26,990 drive-away, giving the new Premium a $4000 price advantage. GAC says the new variant is available to order now, with first vehicles due in dealerships from early September. As before, the EMZOOM range is backed by a seven-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
