Lepas Aura concept car unveiled, previews performance wagon

Lepas has unveiled its first concept car in China, showcasing a new design direction inspired by a cat. Well, a leopard to be precise.

At the front is a full-width black trim piece that mimics a large grille. However, this is a semi-transparent surface with animated lighting behind. Lepas describes it as offering customisation possibilities in terms of graphics and themes.

From there, the angled headlights are like a cat’s eyes, right down the LED lighting sequence, with smoothly sculpted contours down the sides, and curvaceous rear haunches. At the back is a swept-up diffuser section and matching full-width trim piece connecting the taillights.

Details regarding the powertrain are yet to be confirmed, but it does use a fully electric system. The most powerful production Lepas is going to be the L9. It features a dual-motor system producing 330kW. We’d anticipate this concept featuring the same setup. More details to follow.

Lepas says the design is the future of Lepas design. So, although this concept will not go into production as is, a performance wagon could hit showrooms in the future heavily inspired by its styling.
