Hyundai i30 Sedan N MONOCHROME revealed, confirmed for Australia

Hyundai has unveiled a new limited-edition version of its i30 Sedan N, called the MONOCHROME, introducing a more restrained exterior design and unique interior finishes. Just 200 examples are headed for Australia.

Scheduled to arrive in local showrooms from November 2026, the special edition moves away from some of the more colourful styling elements traditionally associated with Hyundai’s N performance models.

The changes include revised front and rear bumper details, side skirts, brake calipers and a rear diffuser, all incorporating a more subdued colour scheme.

Hyundai has also developed a set of bespoke forged alloy wheels, while carbon fibre mirror housings and a rear spoiler add a more purposeful appearance. Two exterior colours will be offered: Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue.

Inside, the MONOCHROME receives a unique Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel with black buttons, replacing the more colourful controls found in the regular i30 Sedan N. Additional Alcantara trim is applied to selected interior surfaces, continuing the darker theme throughout the cabin.

The special edition is intended to appeal to buyers who prefer a less conspicuous performance sedan, without moving away from the established i30 Sedan N formula.

Hyundai hasn’t announced any mechanical upgrades for the MONOCHROME, suggesting the changes are primarily cosmetic rather than performance-related.

Australian customers will have a choice of six-speed manual and eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, with the 200-unit allocation split between the two options.

The i30 Sedan N MONOCHROME will also be offered in South Korea and Canada, with further markets potentially following.

Local pricing and final equipment specifications are yet to be confirmed, although Hyundai has confirmed showroom arrivals will begin in November 2026.
