Chery Group is expanding its presence in Australia with the introduction of another brand, confirming iCAUR will officially launch locally in early 2027. Established in 2023, iCAUR is focused on electrified SUVs with distinctive, boxy styling and an adventure-oriented theme.
The first model confirmed for Australia is the iCAUR V25, an electric SUV that will make its local public debut at the Everything Electric Sydney event from September 18-20. While detailed Australian specifications are yet to be announced, the V25 is being positioned as an SUV designed to combine urban usability with some capability beyond sealed roads.
So far the company says the model will feature a modern digital interior and a range of driver assistance technologies, although power outputs, battery capacity, driving range and charging specifications for Australian vehicles have not yet been confirmed. Overseas, the V25 is offered with 1.5L turbo generator helping a pair of electric motors that generate up to around 335kW – not bad for a mid-size SUV.
The arrival of iCAUR will further expand Chery Group’s increasingly broad Australian operations, with the company already competing locally through the Chery, Omoda Jaecoo and Lepas brands, and soon to be followed by Jetour.
iCAUR itself will target buyers looking for a more lifestyle-focused electric SUV, with its squared-off exterior design helping distinguish it from Chery Group’s other products. The V25 will be the first model locally, with additional vehicles expected to follow as the brand establishes itself.
Australian pricing, specifications and a firm launch date for the iCAUR V25 will be announced closer to its arrival in early 2027.
