Nissan has confirmed its all-new Y63 Patrol will arrive in Australia during the first quarter of 2027, with order books set to open later this month. Prices are yet to be announced.
The seventh-generation large SUV introduces a new twin-turbo petrol V6, replacing the long-serving naturally aspirated V8 in the Y62. The 3.5-litre engine produces 317kW and 700Nm, which is 19kW and 140Nm more than the V8 predecessor, while a new nine-speed automatic transmission replaces the previous seven-speed unit.
Nissan says the new engine also benefits from GT-R-derived technology, including a scavenger oil pump designed to maintain lubrication during steep off-road driving. It will also showcase a number of different drive modes to allow drivers to customise powertrain characteristics for different conditions and demands.
The Y63 Patrol brings a raft of new features to the nameplate, with adaptive air suspension available for the first time. Depending on driving conditions, the system can raise the vehicle for improved off-road clearance or lower it to aid access and loading. At highway speeds, it automatically drops the ride height to optimise stability and efficiency.
Another Patrol first is a biometric climate control system that monitors occupants as they enter the cabin and adjusts the air conditioning accordingly. Higher grades will also offer massage front seats, second-row ‘zero gravity’ seating, head-up display technology, and a 12-speaker Klipsch premium audio system. The interior adopts a new dual-screen layout dubbed the Monolith display, with select variants featuring twin 14.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system.
Nissan says the new Patrol builds on 75 years of global heritage, with the model remaining one of the brand’s most important nameplates in Australia since its local introduction in 1961.
Australian pricing, model grades and full specifications will be announced closer to launch. Customers can register their interest now, ahead of orders opening later this month, with first deliveries scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.
