Prices have now been confirmed for the 2026 Toyota Corolla Cross for Australia, which officially goes on sale on July 24. The new model brings in a GR Sport variant for the first time.
Four main variant lines are going on sale, spanning from the GX (FWD), GXL (FWD and AWD), Atmos (FWD and AWD), to the top GR Sport (AWD). All are powered by the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder hybrid, producing 146kW, via a CVT auto.
Full specifications and features are yet to be confirmed, but the new model wears a fresh exterior design, with a more aggressive and sporty front end incorporating a full-width trim piece connecting the headlights, more horizontal slats for the front grille, and minor revisions at the back, mainly new taillights, compared with the outgoing model.
The GR Sport variant adds sporty highlights, such as a unique front bumper bar, available black contrast roof, black side mirrors, and 19-inch alloy wheels with a machined face with black inner spokes. There’s also a GR Sport steering wheel inside with paddle shifters, and a Sport mode. It also comes with sports suspension.
GXL and GR Sport grades are scheduled to arrive in the fourth quarter of this year. Speaking about the refreshed model, Toyota Australia’s vice president of sales and marketing, Sean Hanley, said:
“Since its launch in late 2022, the Corolla Cross has garnered strong sales and proven a popular choice for customers wanting a small SUV that is comfortable, refined and offers plenty of practical interior space.”
According to VFACTS new vehicle registration figures, the Corolla Cross is the fifth most popular vehicle in the small SUV market segment in Australia. Through May, there have been 5772 sales so far this year, which is up 10.7 per cent on the same period in 2024.
The new model officially goes on sale on July 24, as mentioned, with deliveries set to commence shortly after for the GX and Atmos, and then in the fourth quarter for the GXL and GR Sport. See below for the starting prices (excluding on-road costs):
