2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S range announced, on sale in Australia

Porsche has bolstered its 2025 911 range with the introduction of three new Carrera 4S variants, including coupe, cabriolet, and Targa. The new variants are now available to order in Australia, with prices starting from $362,300.

The launch comes as the 911 Targa celebrates its 60th anniversary, marking six decades since Porsche first responded to US convertible safety concerns with its now-iconic “safety cabriolet” design. Today, Targa models remain exclusively all-wheel drive.

All three new variants sit beneath the more serious GTS grades but still bring impressive performance. Power comes from a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six as used in the Carrera S, producing 353kW. Coupled with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic and Porsche’s active all-wheel-drive system, the Carrera 4S coupe can sprint from 0–100km/h in a claimed 3.3 seconds when equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package.

Dynamics are sharpened further thanks to Porsche Traction Management, with torque biased to the rear for traditional 911 handling characteristics and a confidence-inspiring front-axle boost when needed. Hardware upgrades like the red GTS-derived brake calipers, 408mm front discs, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus come standard.

Each model also benefits from new 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, a sports exhaust system, and a significantly expanded equipment list. Australian cars gain features such as matrix LED headlights, Comfort Access, 14-way adjustable sports seats with memory, a BOSE surround sound system, and the Parking Entry Package with 3D surround-view cameras and steering assist.

The 911 Targa 4S also includes rear-wheel steering as standard, while the coupe arrives as a two-seater by default, with optional rear seats available at no cost.

Visually, the updated Targa continues to pay homage to its origins, with its signature wide roll bar and wrap-around rear window. The fully automatic roof system opens and closes in under 20 seconds and can be specified in four different colours.

Prices for the new models in Australia are as follows (excluding on-road costs), with the order books now open.

2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Coupe: $362,300
2025 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet: $385,200
2025 Porsche 911 Targa 4S: $389,400
