In this day of electric-this and hybrid-that, it’s rare and refreshing to see an honest-to-goodness, naturally aspirated sports car.
Boutique Italian firm Automobili Mignatta has revealed the Rina, which is a small roadster, featuring a carbon-fibre monocoque. With the company aiming to produce up to 30 units per annum, the roadster features a carbon fibre central structure extending from the grille, to the frames of the speedster-style twin screens, tub and roll hoops for both seats.
The little barchetta is achingly beautiful, with bespoke gauges and switchgear and detail highlights that are reminiscent of some of Italy’s most famed roadsters, without emulating any of them.
A naturally-aspirated V8, believed to be sourced from Ford and re-engineered by Italtecnica Engineering, sits under the sleek bonnet, generating around 368kW, propelling less than 1000kg of weight.
A six-speed rear transaxle manual and Brembo brakes – with optional carbon ceramic stoppers – round out the package.
A video on Italian magazine Quattroruote’s Instagram page shows the body in an autoclave, giving a tour of the production facility.
Deliveries are expected to commence in 2026, with a price of 290,000 euros.
