Zenvo plans 1850hp V12 hybrid for new Aurora hypercar

Danish hypercar builder Zenvo, famous for the ST-1 and TSR-S – with its crazy active spoiler that leans when cornering – has released details of a very monstrous powerplant in the form of a 1250hp (932kW), quad-turbo V12.

Dubbed the ‘Mjølner’ engine, it is destined to appear in the absolutely ballistic Zenvo Aurora, which was previewed at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The unit is a 6.6-litre V12 featuring MAHLE Jet Ignition.

Not only is the engine impressive, it’s teamed with three electric motors which will add a further 600hp (447kW). This brings the grand total to an earth-shattering 1850hp or 1379kW, and 1700Nm.

This would make it the most powerful V12 production car ever made. Many V12s such as the Ferrari 12Cilindri and Aston Martin Valkyrie have set new standards for naturally-aspirated V12 power, with 1001hp (746kW) and 819 (610kW) respectively, but this is on a completely different level.

When it debuts next year, the Aurora will boast a 9800rpm redline and seven-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission.

We can’t wait to hear how this things sounds and will be sure to keep you updated as it progresses closer to production.
