Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray on sale in Australia, priced from $275,000

Details and prices have been revealed for the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, set to arrive in Australia this month. It features an electrified powertrain which is a first for the legendary nameplate.

Combining a 6.2-litre V8 with a hybrid assistance system, a front e-motor helps the sports car develop a combined 488kW and 806Nm, with a 0-97km/h (0-60mph) time of just 2.5 seconds. This makes it even quicker than the Z06, despite being $61,000 cheaper.

Starting at some $275,000 in Australia before on-road costs, the E-Ray promises more torque and cornering grip thanks to its electrified AWD system. Also included are carbon ceramic brakes as part of the ZER Performance Package. This also includes Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, with magnetic ride control and a larger spoiler. Jess Bala, the managing director of GMSV Australia and New Zealand, said:

“The Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray is possibly our most hotly anticipated model to date, and I can’t wait to see drivers across Australia and New Zealand behind the wheel of this tremendously engaging electrified Corvette.

This is the best of Corvette today, paired with the brand’s exciting, electrified tomorrow, and it’s the kind of performance vehicle that needs to be driven to believed. And that day is coming, and coming fast, for the people of Australia and New Zealand.”

While it does sport a hybrid powertrain, there is scant reference to fuel economy in the press release. Despite a 1.9kWh battery, this is a performance-focused hybrid, and overseas reports show it is actually slightly less economical than the base Corvette.

Available in 14 different exterior colours, the E-Ray is available to order now, with deliveries expected to begin this month.
