2025 Audi RS 3 revealed, howling 2.5 TFSI turbo 5-cylinder continues

Audi has unveiled its 2025 RS 3 update, presenting a bolder appearance and a refined driving experience, all underpinned by the iconic 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine.

The new RS 3 boasts a more assertive front design, highlighted by a wider, hexagonal ‘Singleframe’ grille with a distinctive rhombus pattern. The grille is flanked by functional side air intakes and three apertures above the front splitter, giving the car a lower and broader stance reminiscent of the Audi Sport quattro S1 Pikes Peak.

Matrix LED headlights are now standard on higher trims, featuring a new digital signature that allows for custom daytime running light designs via the MMI touch display.

At the rear, the RS 3 continues its motorsport-inspired theme with a redesigned diffuser and larger oval tailpipes, all framed in black. New RS-specific exterior colours, including Kyalami Green and Kemora Grey, further enhance its look. The car sits on 19-inch aluminium wheels, with optional motorsport-inspired designs available in select trims.

Inside, the RS 3 remains focused on delivering a driver-centric experience with a luxury flavour. The new ‘double-flattened’ steering wheel and RS sport seats, upholstered in Nappa leather with contrast stitching, emphasise its sporty intent. Ambient lighting, including a planar lighting effect on the door panels that dynamically illuminates when the car is locked or unlocked, complete the package.

Under the bonnet, the RS 3 remains powered by the same 2.5-litre TFSI  turbo five-cylinder engine, delivering 294kW and 500Nm. This setup propels the car from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 250km/h. The Carbon Vorsprung models push this top speed to 280km/h. Audi’s engineers have optimised the RS 3’s chassis and added a Torque Splitter, improving its cornering and overall dynamics.

The car’s exhaust note remains one of its most distinctive features, with Audi refining the sound to be even more pronounced between 2200 and 3500rpm, specifically. In addition, the RS 3 now offers a new rev counter display and enhanced RS-specific driving modes, allowing drivers to tailor their driving experience further.

Australian specifications are yet to be confirmed. However, showroom entry in Europe commences in August.
