New Aston Martin Vantage revealed for 2024, with 665PS twin-turbo V8

As promised, here is the new 2024 Aston Martin Vantage. It’s described as the “definitive front-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car” that brings in even more power than before, and more chassis tuning to tantalise the senses of driving fans.

Firstly, let’s talk about the engine. It’s a 4.0-litre Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbo V8, as before. But power has been boosted to 489kW (665PS), and torque is up to a tyre-torturing 800Nm. This is all sent through a ZF eight-speed automatic.

From there, the grunt is fed through a new electronic rear differential (E-Diff) that can fully lock up in 135ms.
It can also react to vehicle dynamics in 60ms, and apportion torque as needed. The new diff works in sync with the ESP (stability control) to adapt to cornering demands.

Drivers can also play around with settings of the new Adjustable Traction Control system, and new Wet and Track modes for the ESP. The ATC offers 8 settings, allowing drivers to optimise assistance for the given conditions, such as with hot or cold tyres or in the wet. Speaking about the new model, Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin’s chief technical officer, said:

“The art of creating a truly great sports car in 2024 is applying cutting-edge technology in a way that enhances and intensifies the driving experience yet does nothing to remove the driver from the process of driving. Vantage will make headlines for the huge increases in power and torque over the outgoing model, but it’s the vivid way in which it deploys such immense performance that will seduce enthusiasts and purists.”

In terms of acceleration figures, the 2024 Vantage does the 0-100km/h dash in 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 325km/h. Compared with the outgoing V8 Vantage, this new version is 0.1s quicker, the top speed is up from 314km/h, and power and torque have climbed significantly from 375kW and 685Nm.

As for the exterior, design changes mean it is 30mm wider than before, with a new intake system in the front end to facilitate a 29 per cent increase in mass airflow for cooling. There’s also a new integrated splitter, matrix LED headlights, and a return to Aston Martin’s side strake. A set of 21-inch forged alloy wheels finish it off.

The interior showcases an 11-speaker, 390W sound system, or an optional 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system incorporating aluminium double dome tweeters and Continuum mid-ranges and a 1170W amplifier. This latter setup has been acoustically engineered to suit Vantage’s interior.

Aston Martin says the new model will go into production during this first quarter of the year, with deliveries rolling out from the second quarter. Prices for Australia will be announced soon. See below for the key specs:
