Two extremely exclusive Bentley Continental GT S special editions have made their debut in Sydney today, known as the Bathurst Edition.
How exclusive, you ask? See these two examples in the photos? That’s it. These are the only examples made, in the world. They were put together as a celebration piece for Bentley’s achievements in the local Bathurst 12 Hour endurance race.
Built through Bentley Sydney and the Mulliner personalisation division, they are based on the GT S variant featuring a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 404kW and 770Nm. Although the engine is standard, the rest of the package is very bespoke.
On the outside you’ll find a sporty carbon fibre aero kit complete with front and rear spoilers, in discreet form, with black exterior trimmings and highlights for that fashionable contrasting theme. That includes a black roof and black ‘horseshoe’ area around and between the taillights.
One example is painted in bright Apple Green with matching green highlights throughout, while the other one is finished in a subtle Silver Tempest grey. Both come with some very unique touches inside, including Bathurst lettering on the seats (officially licenced), as well as a map of the famous circuit and coordinates on the passenger-side dash, with the driver’s team showcased on the centre console.
Various appointments and additional luxuries are also added inside, with exquisite detailing and switchgear, along with leather and Dinamica upholstery. Shane Rudzis, Bathurst 12 Hour event director, said:
“They ‘brought the thunder’ to the Mountain and their 2020 victory remains one of the most popular in the history of the race, creating iconic scenes that will long be replayed. We are proud to help Bentley celebrate that famous result with this pair of incredibly special and unique Continental GT S vehicles, much like the pair of Continental GT3 entries that were so impressive on the Mountain for many memorable years.”
These two are expected to sell out fast. In fact, a special presentation was held tonight for around 50-60 Bentley clients and customers. We’re sure they were snapped up very quickly. With Bentley sales already up 10 per cent for the first quarter, these will help perpetuate the outlook.
Although these are likely sold out by the time you read this, the Mulliner division can build you a vehicle very similar to these. However, the references to Bathurst are obviously not available.
