Video: 2025 Mercedes-AMG C 63 gets V8 engine conversion

Mercedes-AMG’s latest C 63 S E Performance has left plenty of car enthusiasts wanting. Despite its prodigious combined outputs of 500kW and 1020Nm – which gives it the ability to catapult from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds, its hybrid powertrain makes it extremely heavy at 2186kg and its four-cylinder combustion engine does not create the rumble befitting a car of that stature.

This would explain why Mercedes-AMG is switching back to a V8 powertrain for some models, as reported. In the meantime, VUK Automobile has ripped out the hybrid hardware and given the 2025 W206 C 63 S the V8 powertrain it always deserved. In the process, it has shed a whopping 500kg.

Featured by Azizdrives on YouTube, the result is a very cohesive and factory-feeling car, with the grin and laughter from the YouTuber underscoring this.

If this isn’t bonkers enough, a version with over 800hp is on the cards, with a V12-swapped version of the latest G-Class also featured in the video.

What do you think of this engine swap? Do you welcome the return to the glory days of good honest V8s? Or do you prefer the electrified, four-cylinder hybrid? If it’s the latter, we’d suggest an MRI.
