2026 Volkswagen Touareg Wolfsburg Edition confirmed for Australia

Volkswagen is giving its largest SUV a final-year flourish, confirming the Touareg 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition for Australia. It showcases a mix of styling upgrades and premium features aimed at buyers wanting something a little more distinctive than the outgoing R-Line.

Named after the city where VW headquarters is located, in Germany, the special edition is marked by the wolf-and-castle emblem on the tailgate. From there, the Touareg takes on a darker, more assertive look, thanks to black roof rails, window trims, grille highlights and side mirrors. Unique 21-inch Black Leeds alloy wheels complete the theme.

The equipment list leans heavily into comfort and refinement. A panoramic roof is fitted as standard, along with heated rear outboard seats, a high-end Dynaudio Consequence audio system, and head-up display. Four-zone climate control, soft-close doors, passenger memory seat functions and an electrically adjustable steering column with driver memory also set it apart from the regular 210TDI.

Metallic paint is included in the price, with Silicon Grey and Grenadilla Black forming the core colour choices. Premium finishes are also available, including Meloe Blue for an additional $700, while Oryx White – exclusive to this edition – is a $2000 pearlescent option.

The Wolfsburg Edition replaces the 210TDI R-Line in the lineup, arriving as Volkswagen prepares to wind down this generation of Touareg. All variants currently in production for Australia, including the 170TDI, 210TDI Elegance and performance-focused Touareg R, will receive ‘Final Edition’ logos. Every version continues to offer a 3500kg braked towing capacity.

Volkswagen says the Wolfsburg Edition sits alongside the Touareg R as the most feature-rich offerings of the range’s final year. It joins the recently introduced T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition in terms of being a special variant in local showrooms. It’s set to arrive from March, 2026, with prices starting from $124,990 (excluding on-roads).
