Genesis GV60 Magma unveiled in production spec

Genesis unveiled its production-ready GV60 Magma for 2026 at a world premiere event at Circuit Paul Ricard last week. It comes in as the first showroom model born from the brand’s new Magma program, taking the standard GV60 electric SUV and turning it into a much more serious performance car.

It sits lower and wider, with reshaped bumpers, revised guards and unique airflow-optimised detailing, including triple-vent motifs at the front and along the sills. Exclusive 21-inch forged wheels, blacked-out trims and a functional rear wing underscore its purpose.

Inside, the makeover continues with premium materials, a darker, motorsport-inspired colour palette and orange accents that highlight its performance brief. A redesigned steering wheel, bespoke stitching and Magma-only switchgear set it apart from the regular GV60.

Under the skin, the Magma variant borrows most of its hardware from the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N. Dual motors deliver up to 478kW and 790Nm in Boost Mode, with Genesis quoting a top speed of 264km/h and a 0–200km/h sprint in just 10.9 seconds when Launch Control is engaged.

Revised suspension geometry, adaptive damping, uprated brakes and a reworked rear motor designed for sustained high-output driving all contribute to its sharper dynamic personality.

A suite of track-focused software features complements the hardware as well. Highlights include a Virtual Gear Shift System, Drift Mode and High-Performance Battery Control, all supported by an exclusive Magma digital interface with new performance displays and a reconfigured instrument cluster.

Genesis has already explored high-performance ideas through concept projects like the GV80 Coupe Concept, G80 Magma Special and X Gran Berlinetta. The production GV60 Magma draws from this experimental groundwork, even proving its potential by winning its class in the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed Sunday Shootout.

The GV60 Magma will launch first in Korea before reaching Australia, Europe and North America in 2026. Prices are yet to be confirmed.
