2026 Volvo XC60 updates announced for Australia, price from $74,990

Volvo has given its best-selling SUV, the XC60, a mild update for the 2026 model, with a sharper focus on comfort, technology and design across the entire range. The refreshed model is on sale now in Australia, with prices starting from $74,990.

The Swedish carmaker has modernised the XC60’s cabin experience with a next-gen infotainment system powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform. Combined with a new 11.2-inch central touch-screen, the system promises significantly improved responsiveness and graphics performance over the outgoing unit. It also continues to integrate Google services, including Assistant and Maps.

Volvo says the interface is designed to minimise distraction while delivering a more personalised user experience. Some tech can also be rolled out to earlier XC60 models built from 2020 via over-the-air updates, from later this year.

Visually, the latest XC60 adopts subtle design cues inspired by its larger sibling, the XC90. These include a revised front intake and updated Volvo badging, with new wheel designs and darker rear light clusters completing the facelift. Three fresh exterior colours – Forest Lake, Aurora Silver and Mulberry Red – have also been introduced.

Inside, the XC60 benefits from new premium materials, including Quilted Nordico upholstery and updated trim inlays. Practicality remains a strength, with smart storage, revised cupholders and an improved wireless phone charger. The cabin is said to be quieter than before, while optional air suspension and premium audio systems from Harman Kardon or Bowers & Wilkins are available on upper trims.

All variants come equipped with Volvo’s latest air purification system and an extensive suite of advanced safety tech. Standard features across the board include memory front seats, integrated rear child booster cushions, a 360-degree camera, head-up display, and LED “Thor’s Hammer” headlights.

The Australian line-up consists of four variants; the entry-level Plus B5 Bright and mid-tier Ultra B5 Dark use a 2.0-litre turbocharged mild-hybrid petrol engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Outputs are 183kW and 350Nm.

Going for the Plus T8 and Ultra T8 Plug-in Hybrid variants combine a turbocharged petrol engine with a rear-mounted 107kW electric motor, producing 340kW and 709Nm. It’s also capable of driving on electric power alone for around 81km.

The refreshed XC60 range is now on sale in Australia, with prices starting from the following (excluding on-road costs):

2026 Volvo XC60 Plus B5 Bright: $74,990
2026 Volvo XC60 Ultra B5 Dark: $81,990
2026 Volvo XC60 Plus T8 Plug-in Hybrid Dark: $92,990
2026 Volvo XC60 Ultra T8 Plug-in Hybrid Dark: $101,990
