2025 LDV Terron 9 details confirmed for Australia, price from $49,990

LDV Australia is getting ready to introduce the new Terron 9 ute, revealing pricing and specifications for the brand’s largest and most advanced ute to date. Showroom arrivals are due to begin next month.

Designed new from the ground up, the Terron 9 introduces a bolder presence for LDV in the booming dual-cab ute segment in Australia. It will be sold alongside the existing LDV T60 range, so options are still available at the value-focused end of the market. MG will borrow this new platform for its U9 ute.

Two variants will be offered initially; the entry-level Terron 9 Origin and the flagship Terron 9 Evolve. Both are powered by a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine producing 163kW and 520Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic and four-wheel-drive as standard.

The new platform is noticeably larger than the T60, with a wider body and longer wheelbase designed to improve interior space and road presence. At 5500mm long and nearly 2.0 metres wide, the Terron 9 is among the biggest utes in its class.

LDV says the Terron 9 targets a growing breed of tradies and work-focused buyers who also demand SUV-like comfort and convenience. General manager of LDV Australia, Dinesh Chinnappa, said:

“We have seen the ute market evolve in recent years, including in the tradie and workhorse space. These customers work hard and are often on the road all day, and they appreciate space and comfort as much as family buyers do. So the new-generation LDV Terron 9 has been developed to reflect the changing demands on these vehicles.”

Both the Origin and Evolve variants will come well-equipped with a generous suite of safety and convenience features, including dual 12.3-inch screens on the dash, USB-A and USB-C charging points, a rear diff lock, spray-in bed liner, and a tow bar and wiring harness. There’s also a surround-view camera system as standard, disc brakes all around, and plenty of airbags including the new front centre airbag.

Going for the Evolve adds, among other things, an eight-speaker JBL sound system, 275/55 all-terrain tyres on a 20-inch wheel, front and rear diff locks, heated front and rear seats with massage for the front, cargo bed rails and lighting, and ambient interior lighting.
