2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD updates announced, on sale in Australia

Chevrolet has announced updates for the 2025 Silverado 2500 HD in Australia, the flagship pickup truck in the GM Specialty Vehicles (GMSV) lineup. The latest iteration introduces a refreshed exterior, a broader colour palette, and the same potent powertrain and high-end features that have defined the model.

For 2025, the Silverado 2500 HD LTZ receives a more aggressive and distinctive appearance, featuring blacked-out front and rear bumpers, striking red recovery hooks, and a set of 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels with matching centre caps.

The expanded exterior colour range now offers six options, with new shades including Cypress Grey, Radiant Red, and Sterling Grey Metallic, alongside existing favourites Summit White, Lakeshore Blue, and Black.

While the aesthetic updates add further appeal, the Silverado 2500 HD retains its formidable 6.6-litre Duramax turbo-diesel V8 engine, developing 350kW of power and an immense 1322Nm of torque. This powerhouse is matched to a 10-speed automatic with four-wheel drive.

Being the big HD, customers can utilise its 4.5-tonne braked towing capacity, aided by features such as trailer-equipped adaptive cruise control, GM’s In-Vehicle Trailering App with Trailer Profiles, and large vertical power-adjustable side mirrors.

Inside, the Silverado 2500 HD balances rugged capability with luxury. The cabin is fitted with leather seating, heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, powered sunroof, and powered front seats.

Technology is housed in a 13.4-inch touch-screen and 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, supported by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with a premium seven-speaker Bose sound system providing the tunes.

The new model is on sale now. Prices for the full 2025 Silverado range start from the following (excluding on-road costs):

2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2: $141,500
2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium Tech Pack: $130,500
2025 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD: $166,500
