Evoluto Automobili creates modern Ferrari 355, 55 units planned

Evoluto Automobili has unveiled its new ‘355 by Evoluto’ supercar. It’s a re-engineered homage to the iconic Ferrari F355, designed to deliver a modern yet analogue driving experience. The revamped classic blends exquisite design, cutting-edge technology, and custom quality engineering into a turn-key package.

Starting with a customer-supplied Ferrari F355 donor car, Evoluto rebuilds the complete package, including the chassis using carbon fusing which increases torsional rigidity by 23 per cent. This helps with dynamic handling and response during spirited driving.

Behind the cabin is the ear-pinching, 3.5-litre naturally-aspirated flat-plane crank V8. But, Evoluto has rebuilt the unit and upgraded components, so now it produces 313kW and can rev up to 8500rpm (up from 279kW at 8250rpm). With over 200 new and redesigned parts, including a new engine management system and coil-on-plug ignition, the upgraded powertrain promises even sharper throttle response and improved reliability.

Additionally, a bespoke Evoluto ‘quill shaft’ has been crafted in (replacing the Ferrari item), aimed at reducing vibrations and improving thermal efficiency, while the heads are CNC-ported and larger inlet valves are slotted in to further enhance performance and efficiency.

One of the standout features is the new lightweight titanium sports exhaust system, which not only improves performance but also ensures the car retains its legendary sound. Equal-length headers and solid cam lifters contribute to higher revs.

Paired up to the engine is a rebuilt six-speed manual transmission for that raw driving experience, while Brembo GT six-piston front calipers on slotted discs are fitted, with four-piston calipers at the back.

Weight reduction and handling have been significantly improved through extensive chassis reinforcement and the use of carbon fibre body panels, bringing the car’s weight down to an agile 1250kg (a stock F355 Berlinetta weighs around 1490kg). The 355 by Evoluto rides on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres mounted on custom 19-inch forged alloy wheels.

Inside, the 355 by Evoluto offers a blend of timeless character with modern touches. Customers can choose their own paint, leather, and material finishes. This show car shows off a full suede package, extending across the dash, bucket seats and steering wheel. Some modern switchgear and cup holders are added in.

Each example will be unique, with only 55 units planned for production, ensuring absolute exclusivity. The first example made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed over the weekend, while fans will get a chance to see it during Monterey Car Week in California in August.
