2025 Aston Martin Vanquish debuts in Australia, with 614kW V12

The glorious 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish has made its debut in Australia, hitting the market as one of the most stunning sports cars on sale. It so happens to be the fastest and most powerful Aston Martin road car ever as well.

Perhaps the most interesting element of the new model is its engine. While most carmakers are turning to some form of electrification, whether it be hybrid, plug-in hybrid or fully electric, Aston Martin is sticking with the old-school by bringing out a mighty V12.

And it is mighty, almighty indeed. The entirely overhauled 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 dishes out a whopping 614kW of power and a cool 1000Nm – check out the short cold-start video below for a preview of its sound. That makes it the most powerful road-going Aston ever. Acceleration across 0-100km/h takes a claimed 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 345km/h.

The engine is matched to an eight-speed ZF-based gearbox feeding grunt to a tight rear-wheel drive system. Yep, this bad boy is rear drive. Grip comes courtesy of 325/30 Pirelli P-Zero tyres made bespoke for the Vanquish, with 275/35s on the front, wrapped around 21-inch forged alloy wheels.

Attention to detail is of course spectacular. From the wide (widest ever for Aston) front grille, intricate headlights, to the floating panel across the rear end which can be configured in colour or carbon fibre, to the massive and iconic rear haunches, this thing is sure to command respect wherever it goes.

Ensuring the new model handles as well as it goes, the Vanquish features Bilstein DTX dampers that offer super-fast response, with Sport and Sport+ modes available to increase body control and agility. There’s also a new electronic power steering system with variable assistance and just 2.27 turns lock-to-lock. Its feel is altered with each driving mode.

And then at the other end, an electronic differential (e-diff) helps sort out left and right torque distribution. This pairs in with the on-board electronic stability program. Using a six-dimensional accelerometer as well as wheel speed, throttle, and steering angle sensors, drivers have On, Track, Off, and Wet modes available just for the ESP.

When it comes to slowing down, the 2025 Vanquish comes with a set of 410mm front and 360mm rear carbon ceramic disc brakes. They not only resist fade at up to 800°C, they also help shed unsprung mass by around 27kg compared with iron discs.

Lastly, the interior is decorated in lots of leather and other premium materials, with a unique-to-Vanquish dash design incorporating the company’s latest 10.25-inch touch-screen which runs Aston’s own operating system – as seen in the DB12. Customers can obviously deck out the cabin in a wide range of trimmings and personalisation options. In fact, the Vanquish is one of the most customisable models the company offers.

The 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish is on sale in Australia now, with prices starting from $737,000 (excluding on-roads) – just think of the jet plane, if you forget. Deliveries are underway as we speak.
