Alfa Romeo is launching its first fully electric vehicle (EV) in Australia, with the new Junior SUV. The new model is available with either hybrid or fully electric powertrains options.
The range includes the Junior Ibrida (hybrid) and the all-electric Elettrica. Both models offer distinctive Italian styling, premium cabin appointments, and a comprehensive list of safety and technology features, with Alfa Romeo aiming to attract new buyers without alienating long-time enthusiasts. It’s based on the same Common Modular Platform and layout as the Jeep Avenger.

Designed at Alfa Romeo’s Centro Stile in Turin, the Junior features hallmark design elements such as the brand’s classic ‘scudetto’ grille and sculpted rear, all executed with modern flair. The SUV’s compact dimensions – 4.17m long, 1.78m wide, and 1.5m tall – give it agility to navigate tight city streets while maintaining a planted, sporty stance. Six exterior colours are on offer, each paired with a black roof, including standout hues like Red Brera and Arese Steel.
Inside, the cabin adopts a driver-focused layout with Italian design throughout. Key features include a digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, and Alfa’s latest 10.25-inch infotainment system with customisable widgets, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and access to connected services via My Alfa Connect.

The hybrid Ibrida variant pairs a 1.2-litre turbo three-cylinder engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system and six-speed dual-clutch transmission, with the ability to operate in full-electric mode under light loads. Fuel economy is rated at just 4.1L/100km (NEDC), with 0–100km/h coming up in 8.9 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Elettrica is powered by a 115kW front-mounted electric motor and 54kWh battery, delivering up to 407km of range (WLTP). Thanks to 100kW DC fast-charging capability, 100km of range can be added in around 10 minutes. At 1545kg, the electric Junior promises agile handling, aided by direct 15.8:1 steering and suspension tuning by the team behind the Giulia GTA. It takes 9.0 seconds to cover the 0-100km/h sprint.
Both versions feature Alfa’s reimagined DNA drive mode system, offering Dynamic, Natural and Advanced Efficiency settings. Safety is also a strong focus, with Level 2 autonomous driving capability, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and blind-spot monitoring as standard.
The new Alfa Romeo Junior arrives with a five-year unlimited kilometre warranty, five-year roadside assistance, and an eight-year/160,000km battery warranty the Elettrica model. Prices start from the following (excluding on-road costs):
2025 Alfa Romeo Junior Ibrida (hybrid): $45,900
2025 Alfa Romeo Junior Elettrica (electric): $57,900
