An Instagram post seems to have revealed the interior and dashboard of the 2026 Toyota HiLux, providing the clearest look yet of the new ute’s cabin.
Shared by @cars_secrets, the photo shows a multi-layer, horizontal dash design with a tablet-style central screen and a hooded instrument binnacle. The post describes the part as a mid-grade interior, noting earlier patent imagery pointed to a larger centre display for higher trims. This means the Rogue (or whatever it ends up being called) might be even more upmarket.
The design language leans strongly on recent Toyota trucks and SUVs, such as the Tacoma for North America and the latest LandCruiser Prado (LC250), with simple surfacing, pronounced ledges and an emphasis on clear, physical switchgear.
The pictured assembly includes separate HVAC controls beneath the screen, a detail that should please owners worried it might all be lost to touch-screens. And the layered look is a sharp departure from today’s HiLux cabin – the current version of which is starting to feel hopelessly dated in the face of Ranger and Kia Tasman, among others.
Reports based on related leaks also point to significantly larger displays on some variants, potentially encompassing dual 12.3-inch units for instruments and infotainment. However, this latest image seems totally consistent with patent drawings of the new model that surfaced in August.
We’ll have to wait to see the whole thing, but the direction is clear; the 2026-2027 HiLux will step up its interior game, addressing one of the current model’s weakest points. In terms of what isn’t visible, the central tunnel is set to incorporate an LC300-style gear shifter.
With the ute market reaching saturation point – and rivals pushing bigger screens and more car-like interiors – HiLux might need more showroom appeal than ever to stay on top. In saying that, it was the best-selling vehicle outright in Australia during September, according to VFACTS.
