Renault is preparing to reintroduce the Scenic nameplate in Australia, this time as a fully electric SUV under the brand’s E-Tech family. It’s set to arrive later this year.
The new model represents a complete transformation from its predecessors, which last appeared in local showrooms more than a decade ago as compact family cars and people movers. This new chapter sees the Scenic reborn as a sleek, five-seat electric SUV that blends French design flair with next-generation technology.

Local specs are yet to be confirmed, however, in Europe, the Scenic E-Tech is offered with two powertrain configurations. The standard version pairs a 125kW/280Nm electric motor with a 60kWh battery, offering up to 430km of WLTP-certified range.
A long-range variant steps up to a 160kW/300Nm setup and a larger 87kWh battery, capable of delivering up to 625km on a full charge. Both models drive the front wheels and support rapid DC charging, with the larger battery capable of accepting up to 150kW (130kW for lower spec).

The Scenic E-Tech sits on a 2785mm wheelbase and offers generous practicality with up to 1670 litres of luggage space when the rear seats are folded. In the default seating layout you have a respectable 545L
Renault Australia’s general manager, Glen Sealey, said the new Scenic is part of a broader product offensive for the brand:
“Earlier this year we announced Renault Australia would introduce six new or updated models over the next 18 month. The Renault Scenic E-Tech is just the start of our revitalisation program and we are delighted to be able to introduce this award-winning car in Australia. In a sea of ‘same-same’ SUVs, the Renault Scenic E-Tech stands out for its French flair, cutting edge design, and easy-to-use technology.”
Full Australian details, including specifications and pricing, will be announced closer to launch. Renault Australia is yet to confirm local pricing and specifications, but a similar grade structure to the European market is expected.
