A raft of improvements and updates to the Ford F-150 range has been announced for Australia for 2026, adding a new Platinum flagship model as well as interior and exterior refinements.
Externally, the 2026 F-150 gains revised styling across the range and the addition of Ford’s new Pro Access Tailgate on Lariat and Platinum variants. The feature opens three ways, including a 100-degree swing gate for easier reach into the tray even when a trailer is attached.

Sitting above the XLT and Lariat grades, the Platinum mirrors the Ranger and Everest Platinum models by offering an opulent flagship.
Inside, the Platinum gains black onyx luxury trim, multi-adjustable front seats with massage function and a fold-flat “Max Recline” mode for rest breaks. Standard features include a Bang & Olufsen 14-speaker sound system, twin-panel moonroof, continuously controlled damping for the suspension, and powered side steps.

Pricing for both short- and long-wheelbase versions is now identical, giving buyers the choice of tray length without extra cost.
Importantly, payload, GVM and GCM have been boosted. Compared with the outgoing vehicle’s specifications, payloads have increased from between 685kg and 790kg before to 704kg to 878kg for the new model, depending on variant and wheelbase.

As a result, Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) is now between 3315kg and 3360kg, while Gross Combination Mass (GCM) is up to 7365kg to 7410kg – again, dependent on wheelbase and specification.
Under the bonnet you’ll find the same lusty 3.5-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 petrol, churning out 298kW and 678Nm, paired to the same excellent 10-speed automatic transmission with selectable 4×4.
