BMW Concept Speedtop revealed, 70 planned for production

BMW has pulled the covers off its latest design statement at the 2025 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy, with the Concept Speedtop. It’s a sleek shooting brake flagship that’s actually destined for production.

Echoing the excitement that followed last year’s Skytop debut, the Speedtop blends classic BMW Touring design elements with new proportions and exquisite detailing. Just 70 units will be built, with BMW now officially opening the order books for collectors and enthusiasts.

The Concept Speedtop features a shark-nose front end with illuminated kidney grilles, sharp LED headlights, and an aggressive V-shaped bonnet. The eye-catching silhouette carries a distinctive roofline that flows elegantly from bonnet to rear, finished in a colour gradient that shifts from ‘Floating Sunstone Maroon’ to ‘Floating Sundown Silver’.

Inside, the two-seat cabin showcases meticulous craftsmanship with a unique two-tone leather interior. Rich Sundown Maroon contrasts with light Moonstone White, creating a visually striking yet luxurious atmosphere.

Traditional brogue-style detailing and ambient lighting along the ceiling spine add a bespoke feel, while a leather-lined boot, complete with ambient lighting and split storage, reinforces the car’s grand touring credentials.

Further elevating exclusivity, BMW has partnered with Italian leather specialist Schedoni to produce custom-matched luggage sets, including two made-to-fit bags stored behind the seats and an additional weekend bag for the boot.

Under the bonnet lies BMW’s “most powerful V8 engine” to date, BMW says, ensuring performance lives up to the concept’s commanding presence. While specific figures remain under wraps, it’ll likely produce something like 460kW.

BMW says the Speedtop stands as a design “exclamation mark” for the Touring lineup, combining elegance, performance, and rarity. The production version will be hand-assembled at BMW’s Dingolfing plant, with each example crafted to reflect the concept’s bespoke vision.
