2026 Nissan X-Trail update on sale in Australia, arrives Q1

Nissan Australia has confirmed the updated 2026 X-Trail (MY26) will arrive in local showrooms during the first quarter of 2026, bringing in a sharper design, lightly upgraded interior, and a significant boost in connectivity and driver assistance features.

The X-Trail mid-size SUV, which remains one of Nissan’s most popular nameplates, adopts a refreshed exterior with redesigned bumpers, a new front grille, and updated LED lighting at both ends. Several new colour options will also join the lineup.

Technology takes a notable step forward for 2026 with the debut of Nissan’s Connected Car Services (CCS 1.0) system. The suite allows owners to remotely monitor and control key vehicle functions via a smartphone app, including remote start, health checks, and security alerts.

From the ST-L grade upward, Nissan’s updated Around View Monitor adds clever new features such as Skeleton Hood view and a multi-angle display for improved awareness in tight spaces.

All variants continue to include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, displayed through a 12.3-inch touch-screen that remains standard from the entry-level ST grade. Some new seat materials and updated trims are also included.

Under the bonnet, the MY26 range retains a choice between petrol and e-Power hybrid, the latter driving the wheels exclusively via electric motors. The e-Power variants again pair with the brand’s e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive setup for improved traction and stability in mixed conditions. Combined power is currently 157kW on the e-Power and 135kW for the 2.5L petrol.

Pricing has risen by $1150 across the board. Full specifications will be confirmed closer to launch in early 2026. See below for the full price list (excludes on-road costs):
