Nissan builds Y60/GQ NISMO Patrol for 2025 SEMA, 1000hp TB48

Nissan and NISMO in America have teamed up with Forsberg Racing to develop this badass modified Y60/GQ Patrol for SEMA 2025.

It features a “highly-modified” 4.8-litre turbo-petrol inline-six, based on the popular TB48DE which was found in the next-gen Y61/GU Patrol after this one.

Now, this engine is known in the tuning world for offering huge potential, especially in the Middle East where tuners extract upwards of 2000hp. Here, the team dialled in a modest 1000hp.

The engine breathes via a Garrett Motion G42-1200 turbo and GVW-60 wastegate, and a PWR intercooler with 3.5-inch pipes and a Hypertune billet intake manifold supplying the goods. A Link Fury ECU controls everything. It’s matched to a manual transmission.

For the exterior there’s a custom 1980s style NISMO/Mobil 1/Forsberg Racing livery, with a Forsberg light bar at the front, Holley RetroBright LED headlights, and a set of bespoke NISMO 17-inch AXIS beadlock wheels wrapped in 35-inch Yokohama Geolandar tyres.

Not to be left untouched, the interior features Recaro Sportster bucket seats, a Grip Royal steering wheel on an OMP quick-release mount, with an original dashboard complete with slider climate controls.

Obviously there are no plans to put this beast into production on Nissan’s part, but customers can find some parts in the NISMO catalogue, such as the off-road suspension with remote reservoirs, and the alloy wheels.

The project will be on display at the SEMA Show this year, which runs from November 4-7.
