2026 Hyundai Palisade on sale in Australia, price from $89,900

Hyundai Australia is getting ready to launch the all-new 2026 Palisade, with prices and specs announced today ahead of its arrival this week.

Just a single top-level Calligraphy variant is being offered locally, which means it is packed with features and luxury. It also means the entry price is quite high, placing it near premium-level offerings.

Based on a new, larger platform, the large SUV supports technologies such as vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, and a hybrid powertrain. The new platform also facilitates more interior space.

The body is 70mm longer (now 5065mm), 5mm wider (now 1980mm), and 15mm taller (now 1765mm) than the outgoing model. It also features 70mm of added length in the wheelbase (now 2970mm).

So, as you’d expect, you have more passenger space inside. In fact, headroom grows for all three rows of seats, however, legroom in the second row is reduced from 1077mm to 1052mm. Both the front and third row offer more than the outgoing model, though.

Power comes from a new 2.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder hybrid system, producing an impressive 245kW and 460Nm. That’s all paired with a conventional six-speed automatic with all-wheel drive.

Fuel consumption on the combined cycle is rated at 6.8L/100km, which is less than the outgoing 2.2 CRDi diesel (7.3) and obviously less than the 3.8 GDi V6 petrol (10.7L/100km). Braked towing capacity drops from 2200kg in the diesel and V6 to 2000kg in the new hybrid.

Inside, the 2026 model showcases a 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen and another 12.3-inch display for the multimedia. There’s also a 12-inch head-up display. Hyundai has incorporated some physical controls for the climate to maintain practicality.

Other standard features include a V2L power socket inside, a new Stay Mode which sees the hybrid battery provide energy for the climate and media systems when parked, as well as the choice of 7 or 8 seats.

The new model is on sale now with prices starting from $89,900 (excluding on-road costs).
