2025 Nissan Z update announced for Australia, adds Bayside Blue

Nissan Australia has confirmed a series of bold new colour options for the 2025 (MY25) Nissan Z range, including the long-awaited return of Bayside Blue — an iconic colour of the old R34 GT-R.

Bayside Blue will be offered exclusively on the Z coupe in a single-tone finish, and not on the more hardcore NISMO variant. It’s joined by two new two-tone options; Ivory Pearl with Super Black roof and Plasma Red with Super Black roof. Both will be available on both the standard Z and the NISMO.

The refreshed colour palette now spans eight finishes across the full 2025 Z lineup, offering a mix of heritage tones and modern metallics. Warwick Daly, deputy director product & retail campaigns at Nissan Australia, said:

“The new Z is an icon reborn, and it is only fitting that it now shares Bayside Blue with another Nissan legend, the R34 GT-R. Our performance heritage is a part of our DNA, and it’s so exciting to have this iconic colour live on as part of a new suite of hues available on the 2025 Nissan Z.”

Originally created as a brighter evolution of Champion Blue from the R33 GT-R LM, Bayside Blue made its debut on the R34 GT-R in the late 1990s and quickly became the defining colour of that generation. It was later revived for the GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition in 2019, and now finds a new home on the latest generation Z coupe.

Under the bonnet, the 2025 Z remains unchanged in its mechanical offering, retaining the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 producing 298kW and 475Nm, with either a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic transmission.

The Z NISMO continues to top the range, upping power to 309kW and 520Nm, alongside a raft of chassis, aerodynamic and cooling enhancements, bespoke styling and performance-focused equipment (carried over from before).

Aside from the colour changes, the rest of the sports car remains mostly unchanged from 2024. Fans can head into their local Nissan showroom and order the MY25 Z now, with prices starting from the following (excluding on-road costs):

2025 Nissan Z coupe: $76,160 (manual or auto)
2025 Nissan Z NISMO: $94,605 (auto only)
