Chery Tiggo 4 Pro confirmed for Australia, priced from below $24,000

It comes in as one of the most affordable SUVs in Australia

Chery has confirmed the Tiggo 4 Pro, a new small SUV from China, will be arriving in Australia by October, 2024. Priced from under $24,000 drive-away, the Tiggo 4 Pro positions itself as the most affordable turbo SUV on sale.

The Tiggo 4 Pro will be the third new addition to Chery’s Australian lineup this year, following the launch of the Tiggo 8 Pro Max, and Omoda 5 GT. It will soon launch the Omoda E5 fully electric SUV as well.

With its modern design and feature-packaged interior, the new model is expected to make a significant impact in the competitive small SUV segment. But, it’ll need to compete with some very established and trusted contenders, such as the Mitsubishi ASX, Mazda CX-30 and Hyundai Kona.

Lewis Lu, CEO of Chery Australia, expressed enthusiasm for the new release in a statement, saying:

“We are delighted to introduce the Tiggo 4 Pro to the Australian market. This feature-packed compact SUV will complement the Chery range in Australia and is set to deliver an innovative and affordable motoring experience.”

The Tiggo 4 Pro stands out with its stylish exterior, characterised by sleek lines, a bold grille, and eye-catching LED headlights. Inside, the SUV promises a functional and comfortable environment, enhanced by modern design elements and user-friendly technology.

Chery will offer the Tiggo 4 Pro in two grades, including the Urban and the Ultimate. Both are powered by a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine delivering 108kW and 210Nm – the same engine as seen in the regular, non-GT Omoda 5. It’s paired with a CVT auto with front-wheel drive.

Key features of the Tiggo 4 Pro include a 10.25-inch dual-screen infotainment and gauge cluster system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, seven airbags, heated front seats, and a comprehensive suite of driver assistance technologies. (Pre-facelifted interior shown above.)

Pre-orders will open on September 16, with showroom entry from October, 2024. The Tiggo 4 Pro will come covered by Chery’s seven-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, with seven years of capped-price servicing, and up to sevens years roadside assistance.
