Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale sets Fiorano lap record for road-legal vehicle

Another day, another lap record for Ferrari it seems. Yep, it’s new SF90 XX Stradale has just set a record lap at the company’s own Fiorano test track in Italy, clocking a time of 1:17.309.

This is the fastest lap ever recorded by a road-legal vehicle at the circuit. Mind you, we don’t think Ferrari opens up the track to allow other brands to have a crack at such a record very often, if at all. Even so, this in-house record shows the awesome potential of Ferrari’s extensive track and racing experience.

2023 Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale lap record Fiorano

The SF90 XX Stradale is a limited-build model designed to carve up racing circuits. However, it is the first ‘XX’ model that has been made to be road-legal as well, which makes this record all the more interesting.

It features hardcore aero fixtures, carbon fibre everything including wheels, and a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid. The total system output is a whopping 758kW, with 586kW coming from the V8 alone. Just 799 are planned for production and all have been sold out.

In terms of performance, the SF90 XX Stradale offers a 0-100km/h time of just 2.3 seconds, and 0-200km/h in just 6.5 seconds. The top speed is 320km/h. In other words, it shouldn’t come as a surprise it has set some kind of record and could probably set other records around the world.

2023 Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale lap record Fiorano - Raffaele de Simone

Ferrari set the record with its head test driver behind the wheel, Raffaele de Simone, and the vehicle wore Michelin Cup 2 R semi-slick tyres. It was set on October 16 during a media launch day, in front of various international press. The time was also independently measured by a third-party motorsports agency.

Fans will be able to check out the SF90 XX Stradale as it will be on display at the Ferrari Museum from December 15. Ferrari is putting on a special display corner for the vehicle, with interesting insights and info. See below for the highlight specs:
